Softball bash to raise funds for neighboring family

As Richmond resident Presley Minnick and her family fight for their lives battling a rare cancer, close friends and family are raising funds to help them through their journey. The “Striking Out Cancer for Presley” fundraiser will help raise monies needed for expenses incurred for the Minnick family’s move to Houston, Texas, which was necessary for Presley to receive the lifesaving treatments. The event will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Excelsior Springs High School’s Miracle Baseball Field. Hosted by the former childhood softball teammates of Minnick’s mother, Erin Swope, in Excelsior Springs and Richmond, the group’s goal is to raise $7,000.
