A Title I Schoolwide program is a holistic approach to educational reform that aims to enhance the entire academic program within a Title I school. The primary goal is to boost the academic performance of students currently achieving at the lowest levels.
According to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MDESE), a school can qualify to operate a schoolwide program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act based on meeting at least one specific condition. These conditions include having 40% or more of its students living in poverty, obtaining a waiver from a State Educational Agency to operate a schoolwide program without meeting the 40% poverty threshold, or being a Tier One or Tier Two school in the state that has sought and received a waiver through the School Improvement Grant program, which provides funds to implement o...
