Excelsior Springs has its first dual win this season in varsity boys tennis.The Tigers routed Carrollton Monday on the road, putting them at 1-2 overall entering Tuesday’s dual with Raytown South. Look for additional coverage April 18.The win followed a 6-3 March 31 home loss to Benton, a St. Joseph-based school; and a 5-4 April 2 loss to St. Joseph Central on the road.Seniors Austin Collins, Grayson Grove and Owen Peterson accounted for Excelsior Springs’ victories against Benton. Collins won the No. 1 singles match 8-6. Grove won the No. 2 singles match 9-7. Peterson won 8-6 in the fourth singles spot.In other Benton results, Jack Dearing, Noah Dunker and Tyler Wartner dropped their respective singles matches, with Dearing falling 8-0, Dunker losing 8-3 and Wartner tumbling 8-1.
