Excelsior Springs has won and lost primarily by shutouts lately in varsity girls soccer.Entering Tuesday’s meeting with visiting Grandview, five of the girls’ last six games had ended in shutouts. The string started April 24 with a 2-0 road loss to Harrisonville. On April 28, the Tigers pummeled Grandview 8-0 on the road. After losing 2-1 in overtime May 1 at Smithville, the girls lost 5-0 May 6 to visiting Kearney and then posted back-to-back shutout victories over Winnetonka and Odessa.Reese Ryan led Excelsior Springs in the shutout win over Grandview with four goals, including the Tigers’ first two goals. She scored her first goal in the seventh minute by finishing an assist from Gracie Carder.
