The child support system can feel overwhelming, emotional and deeply personal for families trying to navigate difficult situations. For one Excelsior Springs native, those experiences eventually became the foundation for a career focused on helping others through some of life’s most challenging moments.Excelsior Springs resident Krissy Evertson has spent the past 15 years with the Family Support Division within the Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where she now serves as Office Manager while helping families throughout Clay County navigate child support issues.“I am proud to say I was born and raised in Excelsior Springs and I truly love my hometown,” said Evertson. “I grew up in Kings Addition and had the absolute best childhood. We spent our days riding bikes, playing in the woods and playing hide-and-seek until the streetlights came on. I was fortunate to grow up without any firsthand experience with the child support system.”...
