David Dewane Taylor, 28, Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 23, 1984, in North Kansas City, the son of David Willard and Barbara Jo (Probst) Taylor. He was very proud of his achievements in the Special Olympics from 1990 to 1995. He graduated in 2005 from the Rainbow Center in Blue Springs, Mo. He had a great love for the outdoors, where he could hunt and fish. David was also recognized for being the Excelsior Springs wrestling team’s biggest fan.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Everette Dwane Taylor; and maternal grandfather, Robert Probst.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Jo Taylor and father, David Willard Taylor, both of Excelsior Springs; one sister, Tracy Jobson, Gladstone; one brother, Matt Taylor, Excelsior Springs; paternal grandmother, Carol Taylor, Smithville; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Probst, Kansas City; and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.
