Florence Elizabeth Bissell, 88, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012.
Florence was born July 14, 1923, in West Allis, Wisc., to William and Elizabeth Huebel Hatch. She was a member of St. Ann Parish in Excelsior Springs. Along with being a homemaker, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Ball and Midwest Clinic, later retiring from Wal-Mart as a department manager.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow Calvin Bissell; children, Maryann and Richard; and four brothers, Jimmy, Donnie, Raymond, and Robert.
Survivors: sister, Clara Petrovich; brother and his wife, Bill and Sally Hatch; sisters-in-law, Millie and Mitzie Hatch; son and wife, Bob and Gail Bissell; daughter and husband, Robin and Larry Vosika; daughter, Sue Bissell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 28, at St. James Catholic Church in Liberty. Burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. Rosary will be said at 12:45 p.m. Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 816-630-3131.
