Jeffery Courtney

Jeffery Michael Courtney, 48, Houston Lake, Mo., died Tuesday, June 5, 2012.

Jeffery was born in Excelsior Springs, Mo., and graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1981. He was a high school wrestler and participated in freestyle wrestling, and he also wrestled when he attended William Jewell College. He worked for Harley Davidson. Jeffery was a member of First United Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Ruth Courtney and Isaac and Edith Hodges.

Jeffery is survived by his wife of 27 years, Angela, of the home; two daughters, Alyssa and her fiancé, Taylor, and Andrea Courtney; parents, David and Juanita Courtney; two brothers, J.M. Courtney and his wife, Kim, St. Charles, and Jeremy Courtney and his wife, Louise, Excelsior Springs; and nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.

Cremation. Private family memorial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
