John Dale Howard Sr., 68, Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away Feb. 27, 2022, at Liberty Hospital.

Mr. Howard was born Feb. 18, 1954, to Elmer and Eunice Howard in Hannibal, MO. John started out early in life working at Tom Boland Ford in Hannibal, MO for several years before he married Connie and they moved to Excelsior Springs, MO where he spent the next 20 years working for Rite-Way as a mechanic. He finished up his career working for Nance’s Auto Repair until he retired.

In John’s earlier years he enjoyed riding four wheelers with his children and their friends showing several of them the tricks and trades to riding. He also enjoyed camping with his family. John enjoyed being able to share his mechanic skills with his family and friends and could often be found working and doing several projects on the side. But most of all John took pride in taking care of his son, John Jr. (Sonny) after his accident and did until his very last day.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eunice Howard; daughters, April and Stephanie Howard; brother, J.E. (Sonny) Howard; sister, Mary Howard; and brother-in-law, Jim Smith.

John is survived by his wife, Connie Howard; children, Scott (Kim) Kice, Jerry McPherson, and John (Sonny) Howard Jr; sister, Kathryn Smith; special granddaughter, Alvia Gillispie; and grandchildren, Tristen Kice, Cody Kice, Gavin Kice, Kaitlyn Whiteaker, Jaden McPherson and Faythe Kelley.

A visitation will be held Friday, Mar. 4, 2022, from 5 to 6 p.m., at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home with service following.
