Why can’t we control ourselves?
Life is always throwing things at us from work emergencies to home life chaos. Some can handle the pressure easier than others. But I can’t sleep until everything that needs tending has been sorted out. Otherwise, it’s tossing and turning until my next move is determined. Is it because I lack self-control?
Self-control is simply one’s ability to control their own behavior by avoiding outside temptation in order to achieve personal goals. I like to believe that most people have some predecessor to having self-control. I cannot control myself when it comes to daily tasks. My husband would say he’s married to a person that can never just sit still, a busy body with no off switch.
All my life, I thought this was a wonderful thing. My brain is constantly buzzing about, from work around the farm, house and my actual job. Nothing ever falls behind.
