This year’s 2012 Tiger Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony will take place Wednesday, July 11, at Excelsior Springs High School. The Hall of Fame began in 2005 in cooperation with the Gregg Williams Foundation; each year a special committee chooses from nominations submitted by the community and selects four individuals and one team.
Ticket sales for the Hall of Fame banquet are still available to the public. Anyone interested in attending the banquet and induction ceremony can purchase tickets by contacting Roger Siegel at the activities office at ESHS at 816-630-9284. Tickets for the banquet are $25; this includes a steak or chicken dinner with salad, dessert and a drink. The dinner in the commons will be followed by the induction ceremony in the Performing Arts Center.
This year’s class of honorees include the late H.A. Dickey, Jim Piel, Sarah Vassmer, Conrad Woolsey and the 1998 state champion softball team. Full profiles of all of the Hall of Fame inductees appear in the print edition and e-Edition of the Tuesday, June 26, Standard.
