ES boys drop ’Tonka dual; take 12th at LS
Like their girls counterparts, Excelsior Springs’ boys wrestlers crammed their share of matches into three days last week.
Like the girls, the boys wrestlers hosted Winnetonka Dec. 13. The boys dropped their Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division dual 48-24.
And like the girls, the boys competed in a weekend tournament. Unlike the girls, the boys competed in Lee’s Summit, rather than Sedalia (see above story).
’TONKA RESULTS The Griffins took control early against Excelsior Springs, winning the first six matches by fall to take a 36-0 lead. Junior Justin Wright got Excelsior Springs its first win with a 5-2 decision over Austin Malone in the 285-pound division.
In other results, Micah Danner pinned Xavier Woods in the first period at 126. Junior Ryne Marcum got Excelsior Springs’ other on-the-mat win with a 6-2 decision over Isaiah Benz at 132.
