A trip to UCA cheer camp at Avila University proved successful for the Excelsior Springs High School cheer squads. This past weekend the Tigers gathered to hone their cheer skills and compete against many other schools for several awards. According to ESHS Cheer Coach Miranda Lefebvre, the squads walked away with not only new skills but several titles as well.
The three-day camp left the Tigers with the Leadership Award, which is described as UCA’s most prestigious award given at the camp.
“Each cheer squad who attended the camp was asked if they could cheer at any other school other than their own, which school would they choose?” said Lefebvre. “Out of eight squads ESHS was chosen.”
The freshmen Tiger squad walked away as the Most Improved Squad and the varsity Tiger cheerleaders received the Superior Squad Award and third place in Extreme Routine Competition.
