Basketball players can improve their skills under the direction of Excelsior Springs High School Men’s Tiger Basketball Head Coach Ryan Johnson during the team’s annual “Future Tigers Youth Basketball Camp.” The men’s basketball team hosts the weeklong camp, which is geared towards teaching basketball fundamentals and skill development, held in a fun atmosphere.
According to Johnson the Future Tiger Program is dedicated to establishing basketball opportunities for young men of Excelsior Springs in grades 1-8. The team hosts the camp each summer to help establish a solid base of basketball fundamentals while also allowing players to compete at a high level. Any player that attends a Future Tiger activity will be acknowledged at the men’s basketball team’s first varsity home game designated as “Future Tigers Night.” Each young Tiger athlete will also receive a season pass for all home games.
Johnson, his fellow coaches and members of the Tiger basketball team will lead the camp. Each player will receive a camp T-shirt and a certificate of participation.
This summer’s Future Tigers camp will take place at ESHS Tiger Gymnasium from July 7-11. There are two sessions daily, the first for young men in grades 1-4 will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. and the second session is for boys in grades 5-8 and runs from 1:30-3 p.m.
The cost is $40 per player and pre-registration is available by contacting Johnson at 816-261-4340 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Players can also register the day of the camp.
