EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs Historic Preservation Commission accepts nominations for their Historic Preservation Awards Program until 5 p.m. April 13.
AT EXCELSIOR SPRINGS Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sadie Pahich turns 100 years old on March 25. “We had a big cake, music played for her, and there were family and friends that came as well. She was happy, surprised. She had a good time,” the center’s business director, Melissa L. McConnell, says. Pahich has lived at the center since 2018.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Local bowlers rolled their way to third place in mid-March, when the Excelsior Springs High School bowling club hosted a Show Me Bowling High School League competition at Tiger Bowl.
KANSAS CITY – Technically, Ayden Dolt’s high school boys wrestling career did not end with his championship victory in February at the Class 2 state tournament in Columbia. Dolt, an Excelsior Springs senior, was selected to take part in the annual MO-KAN Metro Classic, held March 8 at Avila University, where he was matched up against Johnny Cash Thomas of Olathe South in the 152-pound weight class.
BLUE SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs varsity boys golf team negotiated rolling hills, wooded areas, sand traps and water hazards well enough to take third at the Oak Grove Invitational. “I am pleased with the way the boys played today,” coach David Stalder said.
PLATTE CITY – No medals were awarded March 22, when Excelsior Springs opened its varsity track and field season at the Platte County Time Trials. But if they had been, the Tigers would have taken home their share of them.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Amigos FC, an area club soccer program, has more hardware for its trophy shelves. This winter, Amigos took three teams to Winter Magic, an indoor tournament held in January at multiple venues around the metro area.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers opened the varsity baseball season with a few additional home games, thanks in part to their new synthetic turf field. Originally, the Tigers were scheduled for a triangular hosted by Mexico, but they played the March 19 games in Excelsior Springs instead, falling to Mexico and Marshfield.
