Excelsior Springs varsity girls soccer coach Brett McKenzie and his Tigers were looking to get back above .500 this week. The girls were 6-6 entering Tuesday’s Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division road meeting with Grandview.
Excelsior Springs is “trending in a good direction” in varsity baseball as April turns into May, according to coach Aaron Holst. Indeed, the Tigers were 14-8 overall and had won four straight entering this week.
CARROLLTON – Orrick senior Anela Fletcher was, admittedly, “a little surprised” at her finish in the girls long jump at the Bruce Finlayson Invitational. Fletcher’s best leap in the event at the April 25 varsity track and field competition at Carrollton was 4.7 meters.
