Board members voted five to zero to adopt the 2025-26 budget, with member Traci White abstaining from the decision.

Residents near the Ideker Mining operation around Mosby pressed Clay County officials for assistance during the commissioners regular meeting recently. The community members cited months of blasting, dust and property damage that have left them feeling neglected by local authorities. Drivers traveling near Kearney should prepare for a full closure of Missouri Highway 92 in both directions as crews tackle critical slide repairs this summer. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close Missouri Highway 92, both eastbound and westbound, between Cameron Road and Route RA/Old Quarry Road near Kearney, beginning at 5 a.m.
