December 1, 2017 – The Excelsior Springs Hospital’s Home Health and Hospice has been named a 2017 HHCAHPS Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a leading provider of Web-based home health and hospice software, billing and coding services, CAHPS surveys and advanced analytics.

HHCAHPS Honors is a prestigious award recognizing home health agencies that continuously provide the highest quality care as measured from the patient’s point of view. It acknowledges the highest performing agencies by analyzing the performance of Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) satisfaction measures.

Developed by Deyta Analytics, HHCAHPS Honors acknowledges the highest performing agencies by first analyzing performance on consumer’s willingness to recommend as a qualifier and then analyzing performance on 18 other questions that comprise the publicly reported measures over a twelve-month period. Honors recipients include those agencies scoring above HEALTHCAREfirst’s national average on at least 85% of the evaluated questions.

“Home Health Honors is a landmark compilation of home health agencies that provide the best patient experience,” said J. Kevin Porter of HEALTHCAREfirst. “I am extremely proud of the Home Health and Hospice Department at Excelsior Springs Hospital for achieving this highest of honors and I congratulate them on their success.”

Kristen DeHart, Chief Executive Officer for Excelsior Springs Hospital, credits the success of the Excelsior Springs Home Health and Hospice programs to Tiffany Cook, director for the program.

“Tiffany has been a solid leader with this organization, providing compassion and support to the patients and family members.  This team goes above and beyond every day to find ways to provide safe care and comfort in the home, education to patients and caregivers and always a compassionate heart when working with our community members.  These families become our family. I am so proud of Tiffany and her team and congratulate them on this well-deserved honor.”
