Meet your neighbor: Carl Wilson

Carl Wilson said he can’t remember exactly when he came to Excelsior Springs because he came too many years ago.

Carl Wilson often walks downtown throughout the week, stopping in to chat at local businesses and to catch up with new friends he’s made during his previous visits.

He served in the Army during World War II. He said he made the decision to join after his brother served in the United States Navy. Wilson said after the Army sent him to Vienna, Austria, he worked as a jeep driver for John Eisenhower, President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s son.

In his spare time, Wilson said he loves to listen to music. He said when he hears music, he can’t stop his feet from moving. He just loves to dance.
