On Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, Arthur R. “Pete” Hartman, 79, passed away at his home in Excelsior Springs.
Services will be July 21, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery.
Mark Heavelow,71, of Lawson passed away July 7, 2021 at home. Mark was born July 15,1949.
He worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years and was retired for 23 years, spending that time with his family.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie (Scobee) Heavelow; his father, William Heavelow; and his brothers, Larry and Lonnie Heavelow.
Gregory Lynn Carroll, 66, of Lawson, MO passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO. Greg was born on Feb. 26, 1955, the son of William “Bill” and Bonnie (Marley) Carroll in Excelsior Springs, MO.
Greg grew up in Excelsior Springs and graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1973. He then obtained a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry from Calvary Bible College in 1977. On July 31, 1999, he was united in marriage to Glenda McCubbin at Bethel Church.
Richard Byron (Pope) Sager, 90, went to be with our Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Thursday, July 8, 2021, after a fall in his home on June 23. He was born on Dec. 26, 1930, the ninth and youngest child of Milton and Ethel (Clark) Sager in Centerville, Iowa.
Laneta “Neta” Grace Sanders, 71, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Jan. 9, 2021. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.
Neta was born in Mexico, Mo., on July 13, 1949, the daughter of James and Louanna Halsey. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1965, and Magna Cum Laude from Missouri Valley College in 1971. On June 8, 1969, she married Robert Edward Sanders, who preceded her in death.
Shirley Jane Offutt, “Momma Coach”, 69 Of Lake Of The Ozarks at Gravois Mill, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 in her son’s home in Orrick, surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 24, 1951 on the family farm near Orrick to Luther Lee O’Dell, Sr and Vina Marie (Covey) O’Dell. She was a graduate of Orrick High School with the class of 1969.
Geneva (O’Dell) Shelton, 90, a longtime resident of Excelsior Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, after a short stay at Liberty Hospital. Geneva was born July 7, 1930 in Ethel, Missouri, to Ollie and Mattie (Black) Cohoon.
On July 13, 1948, Geneva married her high school sweetheart, Billy Gene O’Dell. To this union three boys were born; Mike, who passed away in 2004, Rusty and Terry. Billy preceded her in death on November 8, 1958.
