Students and parents in the Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) expressed their frustrations after a school counselor informed them the district is uncertain about its participation in the Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (NCAPS) program.

Landon Biermann won’t be done playing team golf after he graduates in May from Excelsior Springs High School. Biermann, a two-time boys state qualifier, has signed to play golf for and study at North Central Missouri College, a Trenton-based junior college.

In today’s society, where challenges and negativity often overshadow our daily lives, it becomes increasingly important to focus on the moments of joy and the instances that restore our faith in humanity.

Dear Editor, Missouri is unique in that it has two of the largest and longest-running rural providers in the nation. SMTS and OATS Transit, along with 28 other transit providers, including two large metro systems, can collectively provide transit accessibility in all 87 counties.

The Excelsior Standard, March 14, 2025 Aletha “Allene” Crowley, 91, of Richmond passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. Allene was born July 19, 1933, in Excelsior Springs, the daughter of John Edward and Zoe Lee (Terrell) Banning.
