Excelsior Springs has its first dual win this season in varsity boys tennis. The Tigers routed Carrollton Monday on the road, putting them at 1-2 overall entering Tuesday’s dual with Raytown South.

The third week of Excelsior Springs’ varsity baseball season left something to be desired, Tigers coach Aaron Holst acknowledged. “We were not very good last week,” Holst stated Monday via email.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is warning residents about the increasing dangers of fentanyl and the growing presence of xylazine, a veterinary tranquilizer known as the “zombie drug,” which is being mixed with fentanyl in street drugs and appearing in overdose cases locally.
