McCartney’s conversion caps win, ’Cats move on to NHC

Reese McCartney gave himself a treat Halloween night. With 3 minutes, 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter of Orrick’s varsity 8-man football playoff meeting with Northland Christian, McCartney caught a two-point conversion pass from Xavior Gaskins – his first-ever two-point pass reception, he said.

Native American Heritage Month calls attention to prevention efforts

Each November, communities across the country celebrate Native American Heritage Month to honor the history, traditions, and cultures of Native Americans and Alaska Natives. It is a time set aside to recognize their contributions, learn about their heritage and acknowledge both the past and present challenges faced by Indigenous peoples. The month also honors Native American veterans and their service to the nation.
