Sheriff’s office launches Wheels of Engagement

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office will soon roll into communities with a trailer full of fun to build relationships across the county. The new Wheels of Engagement trailer is stocked with yard games, sports equipment and interactive activities to bring people together.

Roland Parker “Sonny” Parker never met a person he couldn’t talk to and befriend, always engaging and helpful, honest as the day is long. Roland Dean Parker, aged 80, who spent most of his life in Excelsior Springs, passed away peacefully March 25, 2026, at his home in Liberty with family.

Varsity baseballers bolt to 7-1 start

Excelsior Springs was nearly unbeatable in its first homestand this season in varsity baseball – a homestand that saw infielder Jaxton Glaspy swat his first high school grand slam. The Tigers finished the homestand 7-1.
