James Dean Guth, 77, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away on Jan. 1, 2022, at Liberty Hospital.

James “Jim” Guth was born on March 28, 1944, in Kansas City, MO. He loved to read books that contained any information on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You could generally find him with a book and a Bible in his hand. He spent most of his days serving God and loving his wife of 44 years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Clara G. Guth; stepsons, Jarold David Gallaway of Excelsior Springs, and Arthur E. Gallaway and wife Denise of Richmond; stepdaughters, Tanya D. Clark of Excelsior Springs, Sonya J. Light of Excelsior Springs, and Tina M. Wood and husband David, of Pleasant Hope, MO; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  

He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2022, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO. Visitation was held from 1 - 2 p.m. at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, MO.
