After win in football, Tigers learn opponents have COVID-19

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers defeated the Savages, 33-21, last week, but Excelsior Springs could not beat the Savannah team’s brush with COVID-19. “We are not playing this Friday at Warrensburg for sure,” Excelsior Springs Superintendent Dan Hoehn said Wednesday. Acting in coordination with the Clay County Health Department, the Excelsior Springs varsity players are quarantined until further notice. All Tiger coaches had been released from quartantine Wednesday. The first day of the new school year is Sept. 8.  The Savages canceled two games after a player and one other person tested positive for the virus, Savannah School District information stated. ...
