Application process open for Century Farms
The University of Missouri (MU) Century Farms program is looking to recognize more historic, family-owned farms.
On Monday, the MU Extension stated in a press release that this year’s Century Farms application process was underway, with the deadline set for May 1. The MU Extension also released the following selection guidelines: *Farm ownership must be within one family for at least 100 years in a row through Dec. 31, 2022.
“The line of ownership from the original settler or buyer may be through children, grandchildren, siblings and nephews and nieces, including through marriage or adoption,” the MU Extension stated.
*The current farmland must include at least 40 acres of the original property owned by the family. That land also must be a revenue-producer.
To apply, visit https:// extension.missouri.edu/ programs/century-farms. The entry fee is $140 and includes costs for sign construction and print materials, the MU Extension stated....
