The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has announced that K9 Argos has finally received a bullet and stab-proof protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from Vested Interests in K9’s Inc. K9 Argos joined the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in September 2022 and is currently partnered with Deputy Zack Petty. K9 Argos’ vest came with an embroidered sentiment honoring fallen retired police captain David Dorn of St. Louis, Missouri, reading “In memory of captain David Dorn, St. Louis, MO-EOW 6/2/20.” Established in 2009, Vested Interest in K9’s Inc. has a mission to provide bullet and stab-proof vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The body armor provided for K9s is custom fitted and National Institute of Justice certified. Since the beginning, Vested Interest in K9’s Inc. has provided over 5,043 vests to K9’s in all 50 states, valuing $6.9 million in donated equipment, made possible by private and corporate donations…
