Arizona extradicts Missouri homicide suspect unopposed

RICHMOND – Cursory evidence suggested Richard Anthony Arrington, 31, Kansas City, would face at least a homicide charge after his arrest in Ray County following a multi-jurisdictional chase, but that did not happen. Missouri instead granted Arizona the right to extradite Arrington. He faces a drug charge there. Court documents do not specify why an Arizona drug charge carried more weight with the Missouri judicial system than a potential homicide or murder charge in this state. The Missouri case started in March after Ray County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Lawrence took seriously a phone call from a source claiming a person driving a black Ford F-350 with a body in the back approached the county. Lawrence alerted fellow law enforcers.
