ST. CHARLES – The American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring two Excelsior Springs High School juniors to serve as delegates for Missouri Girls State, which began June 11 and will conclude Saturday at Lindenwood University. Kyra Michelle Davidson and Lillian Paige Hughes are the young ladies from Excelsior Springs that are attending. Delegates are selected by American Legion Auxiliary units working with local schools that assist in evaluating the candidates’ potential leadership qualities. Sponsorships are made possible by various American Legion Auxiliary fundraisers throughout the year.
