Keith Bass II was extradited on Oct. 6 back to the Clay County Detention Center from Floydada, Texas.

Bass, 48, has been charged with murder in the first degree, two charges of armed criminal action and assault of a special victim in the first degree after allegedly murdering Theresa Bass and attempting to kill Bobby Neal Jr. on Sept. 7.

Arraignment took place Tuesday. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was referred to a public defender for representation.

The next hearing will be at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18. It will be a bond hearing.

The defendant’s bond is set at $1 million.
