EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The summer learning plan will have three objectives this year, Career Center Director Mark Bullimore told district leaders March 14 at the Support Services Center. “(We will) have the biggest and best summer school we’ve ever had, we’re going to have the most fun we’ve ever had and we want to create … repeatable programming,” Bullimore said in presenting the plan shortly before approval by the Board of Education. Assistant Superintendent Melissa Miller is “working really hard” at drafting reading and math curricula for grades K-6 that will allow students to receive “either a boost or enrichment or remedial programming” in those subjects, he said. “We know that we need to improve our reading and math, and so, we’re going to ensure every student that’s there is going to be able to get … what they need,” Bullimore said.
