EXCELSIOR – The city has new Historic Preservation Commission and Planning and Zoning Board members. City Clerk Shannon Stroud swore in Jason Van Till to preservation and Julia Goldstein to zoning Jan. 18. Van Till’s term expires in September, a Jan. 14 memo from City Manager Molly McGovern to city leaders stated. He replaces Sylvia Eales, mother of former council member Brad Eales. Van Till “fulfills the need on the board for (someone working in) real estate,” Mayor Sharon Powell told city leaders. Goldstein’s term expires in 2024. She replaces Pat Slusher. Goldstein meets the board’s need for a real estate agent who has held a license for five-plus years, Powell said.
