Bond posted in Lawson child abuse case
A Lawson man has been released from custody after being arrested for one felony charge involving child abuse.Travis R. Jones, 39, is facing one felony count of abuse or neglect of a child, no sexual contact. Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Baskins issued the warrant on Feb. 5 and shortly after, the warrant was served and Jones posted a bond of $15,000 with corporate surety allowed.Jones will appear for his initial appearance at 9:30 a.m. on March 17.On Oct. 8, 2025, Lawson Police Department Sergeant Kantola and Officer Benjamin Glenn responded to a report of child abuse and were made aware of the situation by Children’s Division Worker Alyssa Silkwood.“ Upon our arrival, Mrs. Silkwood informed us she had already spoken to the children involved and the mother,” the probable cause statement written by Glenn reads. “ She stated the mother had...
