An Excelsior Springs business owner has been sentenced after reaching a plea agreement that reduced her felony charge to a misdemeanor.Last week, Melynda M. Casey, 34, was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with the execution of the sentence suspended, after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor peace disturbance charge in Ray County Circuit Court. Under the plea agreement, the court suspended Casey’s jail sentence contingent upon her compliance with probation terms.Casey initially faced a felony charge of abuse or neglect of a child, before prosecutors amended the charge to a misdemeanor. As part of her sentence, Casey will serve two years of supervised probation through Missouri Supervision Solutions LLC.Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J.
