In an ongoing commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children, the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) is embarking on the eighth year of its warrant amnesty program.This initiative is specifically designed to offer leniency to individuals who have outstanding warrants for failing to meet their child support obligations.“This is for civil warrants based on contempt for failure to pay child support and also on non-support charges for misdemeanors and felonies,” explained CCPO Director of Family Support Grant Kelley. “Our office mailed out letters to individuals who qualified and indicated that they could take advantage of the program by making a modest payment on their case.”This year, 224 letters were mailed to non-custodial parents who met the criteria, providing detailed information on how they could address their outstanding warrants. Out of these, 90 letters pertained to civil cases, while 134 were related to criminal cases. ...
