CCSO partners with Feed Northland Kids
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has partnered with Feed Northland Kids in an effort to ensure area children and families have nutritious food.Feed Northland Kids will prep food kits each month and have set up a location at CCSO.“We can provide those food kits and any member of the sheriff’s office can gain access to them if any of our employees come across any family with children in need,” explained CCSO Community Interaction Unit Sergeant Megan Blackburn.“We have started with 24 food kits in our patrol lobby and each month, I’ll go restock those. The only information that we need to be able to provide these out to these families is their zip code and how many adults and children are in the household.”Kits are carefully curated to include a variety of essential items. Each kit contains a grocery bag filled with 15 shelf- stable items, such as hearty pasta, creamy peanut butter, flavorful tuna, tender chicken, nouris...
