Scams are numerous in the new age of technology, with the elderly being the most preyed upon. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) explained how residents can take matters into their own hands. CCSO Sargent Christopher Johnson said scams are not only prominent with technology but are now being seen in person. Johnson warns the elderly about these scams. There are multiple major red flags to look for when it comes to scams, according to Johnson. • If someone asks for passwords, social security numbers or account numbers.
