A celebration of resilience, leadership and compassion recently brought women from across the region together during the Women in Business and Leadership Luncheon hosted by Richmond News and Excelsior Springs Standard in honor of Women’s History Month.The event, held at the Richmond Library, served as a platform for women to connect, share stories and recognize the achievements of local leaders.Sharon Donat, manager of both publications, conceived it and opened the program with an emotional reminder of the power of kindness.“I want to thank all of you for taking the time out of your day to come and support each other as women,” said Donat. “In January, I wrote a column about how I saw unkindness everywhere and it was my goal this year, in 2025, to make it a kinder community for us to be in.”Donat described the personal challenges she faced while organizing the event and her gratitude when fellow women stepped in to help.?...
