Chamber spotlights Excelsior Springs comprehensive plan
A new comprehensive plan set to guide land use, housing and economic development in Excelsior Springs for the next 20 years is expected to be formally adopted next month, providing a long-term roadmap for growth as the city responds to changing community and business needs.City Community Development Director Mallory Brown outlined the plan during a recent Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon attended by business owners, elected officials and community partners, continuing the chamber’s role as a forum for major civic and economic updates.“Our previous comprehensive plan was adopted in 2009 and a lot has changed since then economically, demographically and regionally,” said Brown. “This update ensures we’re not making 2026 decisions based on 2009 assumptions about our city.”Brown described the comprehensive plan as a guiding document for the city’s long-term decisionmaking.“I like to think of it as a roadmap,...
