City of ES dissolves Vintage TIF
Excelsior Springs has dissolved its Vintage Plaza II tax increment financing (TIF) plan.
As recommended by Melinda Mehaffy, city economic development director, the City Council approved the closure June 21 at the Hall of Waters. Per the council-approved ordinance, the area designated for redevelopment and an allotment fund under the plan were closed, too.
The ordinance also states that money in the fund will go to the Clay County Collector of Revenue “to pay to the applicable taxing entities,” as dictated by Missouri Revised Statutes under the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act.
Accomplishment of the redevelopment plan goals prompted the council to close the TIF plan, the ordinance states.
