EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The City Council and Parks and Recreation Board, or PRB, agreed to merge two positions, pending board approval Tuesday, Parks and Recreation Director Nate Williams told city leaders. The plan calls for the Parks and Recreation director to “assume the duties and responsibilities of the Community Center director.” “The director will operate under the dual supervision of the PRB with respect to its existing parks and recreation properties and programming, and the city manager on behalf of the city with respect to its Community Center,” the plan states. Center and parks budgets will remain distinct, Williams said. Center and parks personnel will remain the same, except for Director Jesse Hall, who will be project manager for the second phase of building the outdoor swimming pool at the center, he said.
