City renews MARC agreement on household hazardous waste
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Residents may continue to dispose of their household hazardous waste through the Mid-America Regional Council’s Regional Household Hazardous Waste Program for another year.
The City Council approved an ordinance Oct. 18 renewing the annual agreement with the MARC Solid Waste Management District. The agreement will cost $11,503, per an Oct. 12 letter
The agreement will cost $11,503, per an Oct. 12 letter from Public Works Director Chad Birdsong to city leaders. The cost for using the waste collection service is based on the city’s population as established by the 2020 census, he stated.
The program is something the city has “participated in for a number of years,” Birdsong stated.
“Residents … have the option of disposing of the hazardous waste through regional drop off events as well as permanent facilities in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit,” he wrote.
