A series of updates to Excelsior Springs’ personnel policies will eliminate several employee leave buyouts and make administrative changes affecting workplace procedures and employee benefits.Excelsior Springs City Council members approved the revisions during a recent meeting following an annual review of the city’s personnel policies conducted by staff and a personnel policy review committee representing multiple departments.City Manager Molly McGovern said the annual review process evaluates areas of the city’s personnel policies that could be improved or clarified.“This year, we formed a personnel policy review committee with representation from every department,” said McGovern. “The purpose was to discuss the leave benefits and to evaluate the PTO (paid time off) leave system.”She said the committee ultimately decided against switching to a PTO system but did support several other policy changes.The approved revi...
