Clay County sets standard for safety, community trust
Clay County has officially been recognized as one of Missouri’s most proactive and community- focused jurisdictions after receiving the Missouri Blue Shield designation.The honor awarded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety recognizes a community-wide commitment to enhancing public safety, reducing crime and supporting law enforcement. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) played a pivotal role in helping the county achieve the program’s criteria through years of strategic investment and collaboration with the community.The Missouri Blue Shield Program was created in January 2025 by Governor Mike Kehoe through Executive Order 25-03. It recognizes local governments that demonstrate a comprehensive and sustained commitment to public safety through law enforcement support, innovative crime reduction strategies and strong community partnerships.
