KEARNEY – On average, 75% of Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative members experience less than one hour of outage time per year.

“This high mark for reliable service reflects decades of planning and investment related to PCEC’s electrical system,” company information states.

PCEC’s engineering and operations teams seek ways to make power even more reliable.

“These efforts are part of a long-term, multi-year plan that will result in improved service for PCEC members in the Excelsior area,” company information states.

Improvements include tree trimming and brush control. Crews have been deployed to various areas of Northland for brush clearing assignments.

Underground inspections and how often they are done will increase. Platte-Clay crews will check for transformer damage, verify safety signs are visible and make sure all underground-related equipment is maintained.
