WARRENSBURG – The proposed 21st Senatorial District map would make dramatic changes to the present district represented by Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg. Changes include that, for the next two years, Hoskins would not live in the district where he serves. His hometown, Warrensburg, is in Johnson County, which would move to the 31st District, represented by Rick Brattin. The proposed 21st District also would expand west to take in northern Clay County, with Excelsior Springs, Liberty, Kearney and Smithville. The district on the less-populated east side would include all of Ray County, including Richmond and Lawson; Lafayette County, including Odessa, Oak Grove and Lexington; Saline County, including Marshall; Fayette County; and Cooper County. “Since I am term-limited out in 2024,” Hoskins said, he will continue representing the present 21st District until his term ends. “I guess I will get to dive into Clay County politics.” Clay County had a statewide reputation for questionable…
