Neighborhood Specialist Laura Mize presented an update for the Community For All Ages Program during a recent Excelsior Springs City Council meeting. “KC Communities for All Ages is an age-friendly initiative that helps increase awareness in local jurisdictions of the impact of a growing older population,” according to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). “The program offers tools to help meet the needs of older adults in ways that benefit residents of all ages.” The Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation Board approved a five-year strategic plan in 2021 that included age and ability-lens language and plans for inclusive amenities.
