Council approves agreement to preserve Hall of Waters
The Excelsior Springs City Council unanimously approved a conservation easement agreement with the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office to help preserve the historic Hall of Waters.The city received a federal grant, “Saving America’s Treasures,” for preservation efforts, which includes imposing a 50-year easement on the Hall of Waters property.Excelsior Springs Economic Development Director Melinda Mehaffy outlined the project, which aims to safeguard the historic structure’s architectural integrity, both exterior and interior.“The Hall of Waters is one of the most iconic buildings in Excelsior Springs and this easement will help ensure that future generations will appreciate its unique design,” said Councilman Reggie St. John. “The Hall of Waters is truly irreplaceable.
