The Excelsior Springs City Council has approved an agreement allowing outside agencies to rent the Excelsior Springs Fire Department’s (ESFD) training tower, currently under construction.Fire Chief Joe Maddick presented the resolution, explaining the agreement’s purpose. “Before you is a training tower agreement, which will be used by the fire department for when outside agencies wish to utilize our training facility,” explained Maddick. “The agreements are pretty straightforward. They spell out the date, time and how long they wish to use it.”While the department has not yet finalized a fee schedule, Maddick assured the council that one would be in place before rental agreements take effect.The agreement outlines guidelines for using the facility, including provisions related to liability, scheduling, fees and user responsibilities.
